A recognized industry leader known for his passion for driving innovative digital publishing initiatives, Cliff Guren has worked at the intersection of publishing and technology for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Bluefire, Cliff was the Vice President of Publisher Relations and Content Operations at Skiff, a start up funded by Hearst Corporation. Cliff and his team worked to secure the rights to publisher content and develop the infrastructure required to make digital newspapers, magazines, books, and blogs available for sale to Skiff users. Cliff worked at Microsoft for over ten years. He joined the company as Product Unit Manager for the Encarta Reference Productivity Products group. Cliff moved to the Advanced Reading Technologies team to help launch the Microsoft Reader eBook platform. Cliff also worked on Microsoft’s book-search team as the Senior Director of Publisher Evangelism. His team worked with publishers of all sizes to aggregate a corpus of over 500,000 in-copyright titles. Cliff joined Bluefire Productions as Vice President of Business Development in 2011. He launched Bluefire’s Adobe reseller program and has driven the expansion of the company’s white-label business. Bluefire Reader has over a million users worldwide. The company has created branded reading apps for over 45 leading retailers, publishers, and enterprise customers around the world. Cliff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University in New York, New York.
